The first iteration of the Box Man Bottle Rocket Launcher Project. Sometime after the creation of the Box Man Suit, a fiberglass tube was duct taped to its left arm. This served as the original Bottle Rocket Launcher and had a slit on the side for a wick from the firework to fit into. Because of the user being in the suit, a second person was required to light the bottle rocket. Two tests can be seen in the video below, including the one where an identical tube was taped to the suit, serving as a second bottle rocket launcher.
This bottle rocket launcher is quite irritating. It is made of fiberglass, which caused miniature needles to get stuck in the skin of the user. It is also quite large and heavy, adding a lot of weight to the light suit. The slit for the wick is small and messy, causing a struggle to fit the wick in, which was very prone to falling out afterwards. The user has to raise their arm up high and at an angle to keep that from happening.
Despite these things, however, this launcher worked well. The bottle rocket launched adequately every single time and is very easy and cheap to produce from a mortar tube.
Since the launcher required a second person to use due to the suit, the next iteration of the Bottle Rocket Launcher Project should be able to attach directly to the user's arm. Efforts should be made to decrease the launcher's size and weight, as well as to introduce a new means of exposing to wick to light. PVC is a great alternative for these uses as it is light and easy to work with.
